Marinade
The
Whisky and barbecues. The perfect match. Any genuine barbecue expert knows that the secret is in the marinade. Whilst the sweetness of bourbon has a long association with the barbecue, it’s malt whisky and its broad flavour spectrum that offers the most when enhancing your meat.
Whether you’re a barbecue pro, or a novice griller, we want you to start experimenting with The Glenlivet in your recipes. We’ve built the perfect marinade base recipe below, from here it is up to you.
You can take it your own way – if you want it light, go for the floral notes of The Glenlivet Founder’s Reserv, it you want it sweeter, go with the honeyed notes of The Glenlivet Captain’s Reserve, or if you want it big and smokey, go for the more robust flavours of The Glenlivet Nadurra Peated.
Ingredients:
- 150ml – The Glenlivet expression of your choice
- 75ml – olive oil
- 150ml – soy sauce
- 75ml – Worcestershire sauce
- 2 tbsp – Dijon mustard
- 1 onion, chopped
- 3 garlic cloves, crushed
- Salt and pepper to taste
